Overview

AuditWizard 8.4.4 is a minor release of the product.

You must be using AuditWizard 8.3.0 or later before you can upgrade to the latest version. If you are using an earlier version please upgrade to 8.3.0 before attempting to upgrade to the latest version. Instructions are included in the section Obtaining the Update below.

Update

Obtaining the Update

Please log in to the Client Support Portal to download the upgrade installer. Click AuditWizard in the Update menu on the left-hand side. The release page contains a link.

If you are using an earlier version than 8.3.0, you will find a link to the 8.3.0 update on the release page.

Test Installation

It is highly recommended that you implement a Test Installation and upgrade it before committing the new version to your live system. Failing this, if your server is virtual, snapshot it before upgrading so that you can roll back if necessary.

Procedure

Do not uninstall AuditWizard prior to upgrading. This is an update, not a full installer.

If you have a Multiple User installation, update the server first, then the clients.

  1. In AuditWizard, ensure that Database Purging is disabled.
  2. Back up your database
  3. Conditional, for installations earlier than 8.3.0:
    1. Please contact Support to obtain the 8.3.0 update.
    2. Right-click the installer AW830p.exe and select Run as administrator. This will avoid permission issues.
  4. Right-click the installer AW844p.exe and select Run as administrator. This will avoid permission issues.
  5. Upgrade the Scanner and Agent per the release notes.
  6. Update your Scanner and/or Agent. Instructions:

198 Disposed Assets Appear in the List of Assets that Have Not Been Audited in X Days in Dashboard If an asset were marked as Disposed Lsd icon comp disp.png, it would appear in the dashboard as an unaudited asset, but should not have been counted.
296 Internet Explorer 10+ Audited as Version 9 Versions of Internet Explorer at or above version 10 would appear as version 9 when audited.
334 Alert for IP Address Change Not Working An alert with the criteria Asset Details/IP Address Changed or Hardware/Network/IP Address Changed would not generate an alert when the IP address changed on the client.
371 Audit Scanner Error: "Cannot read Configuration File... Aborting" An unintended interaction with Alert Monitor caused the Scanner to abort.
1377 Error Auditing Windows XP: "The procedure entry point RegDisableReflectionKey could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll" An updated function in later Windows XP versions conflicted with the Scanner's method of capturing serial numbers.
1391 Multiple Email Addresses for Support Contract Expiry Notifications In the Support Contract interface in Network View, entering multiple email addresses would not send email to all addresses.
1392 Agent: FTP Upload Not Working When FTP was configured as the upload option, the Agent would not upload to the FTP site.
