Installation
HelpBox is a 100% Web based application running under Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) version 6 or newer. As such the minimum PC configuration is constrained by the requirements of IIS rather than by HelpBox.
IIS Server - Minimum Requirements
- IIS - HelpBox requires a Microsoft IIS server running version 6 or 7.
- SQL Server - 2005 or 2008
- HDD - 1GB (For program and database)
- CPU - Dual Core 2.5 GHZ
- Memory - 4GB
Note - SMTP services will need to be installed for email delivery.
Clients
- Internet Explorer version 7, Firefox version 3, Chrome version 5 , Safari version 5.
Install Steps
Step 1
Run the MSI installation file. This will take you through the setup procedure for Layton ServiceDesk™. The installation procedure will create the program folder as Layton ServiceDesk v6.0 in the selected program location during installation.
Note: You may need to stop your IIS Services first in order to get a successful installation. Then re-start all IIS Services when installation is completed to access the application.
Step 2
The web site LaytonServiceDesk will be created under the default web site in IIS unless you specify a different location during installation. The Default Web Site is recommended.
