Fix Problems with Programs that Can't Be Installed or Uninstalled

If a problem develops with uninstalling Layton ServiceDesk (often from an interrupted uninstall operation), use the Fix it tool available from Microsoft Support. This will download a utility that will scan the registry for installed applications and will present a list of applications to uninstall. Select Layton ServiceDesk and let it run. It might take some time to run.

Review System Requirements

If you have had trouble doing the initial installation, ensure that all the System Requirements have been met.

Review Pre-Installation Procedure

If you have had trouble doing the initial installation, ensure that you have followed the Pre-Installation Procedure.

Reinstallation

  1. Install as per New Installation. When the Database Tool opens, you will be connecting to an existing database, not a new one.
  2. Copy the backed up folders from Cleaning the System back to C:\Program Files\Layton Technology\Layton ServiceDesk\HB_Data\.
