Overview

AuditWizard 8.4.5 is a minor release of the product. You must be using AuditWizard 8.3.0 or later before you can upgrade to the latest version. If you are using an earlier version please download 8.3.0 from the Update ➤ AuditWizard menu in the Client Support Portal and follow the conditional steps in the Procedure below.

Update

Determining the Currently Installed Version

Please refer to this article to determine the currently installed application, Scanner and Agent versions.

Obtaining the Update

  1. Log in to the Client Support Portal.
  2. Click AuditWizard in the Update menu on the left-hand side.
  3. Click the version number next to LATEST VERSION. This is a link to the 8.4.5 update installer.
  4. Conditional, for installations earlier than 8.3.0:
    • Click the v8.3.0 link. This is a link to the 8.3.0 update installer.

Obtaining the Full Installer

If you need the full installer, you can download it from here.

Test Installation

It is highly recommended that you implement a Test Installation and upgrade it before committing the new version to your live system. Failing this, if your server is virtual, snapshot it before upgrading so that you can roll back if necessary.

Procedure

Do not uninstall AuditWizard prior to upgrading. This is an update, not a full installer.

If you have a Multiple User installation, update the server first, then the clients.

  1. In AuditWizard, note the configuration of the Database Purging settings and ensure that the feature is disabled.
  2. Back up your database
  3. Conditional, for installations earlier than 8.3.0:
    1. Please contact Support to obtain the 8.3.0 update.
    2. Right-click the installer AW830p.exe and select Run as administrator. This will avoid permission issues.
  4. Right-click the installer AW845p.exe and select Run as administrator. This will avoid permission issues.
  5. Update your Scanner and/or Agent. Instructions:
  6. Back up your database.
  7. In AuditWizard, if Database Purging was previously enabled, re-enable it and ensure that the settings match your notes from the beginning of the procedure..
