If Exchange gives the error:
ERR Command is not valid in this state
when trying to connect via POP, configuring plain text login can resolve it.
[edit] Procedure
- Log into your Exchange 2010 CAS server.
- Open the Exchange Management Shell.
- Issue the command::
Set-PopSettings -LoginType PlainTextLogin
- Restart the Exchange POP Service.
