Overview

In rare circumstances when installing on Windows Server 2008, the installer might launch and immediately stop with the message:

   The installer was interrupted before Layton ServiceDesk could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again.

This message is generated if IIS 6 Compatibility has not been set.

Instructions

Windows Server

  1. Open Server Manager.
  2. In the left-hand pane, expand Server Manager (SERVER) > Roles and select Web Server (IIS).
  3. In the right-hand pane under Role Services, scroll down to IIS 6 Management Compatibility.
  4. If IIS 6 Management Compatibility or any of its related roles are not installed, click the Add Role Services button at the head of the Role Services section.
  5. Follow the wizard to install IIS 6 Management Compatibility and its related roles. You may need to restart the server to finish.

Windows 10

You may be using Windows 10 as a test installation. It is not recommended to host a live installation on a desktop Windows version.

  1. Open the Windows Features Control Panel.
  2. Expand Internet Information Services.
  3. Check the IIS 6 Management Compatibility node to enable all the sub-features.
