[edit] Overview

Most of the data is stored in the database. There are some files that contain data. In a disaster-recovery or migration scenario, the application can be reinstalled and the files copied back in.

[edit] Database

[edit] SQL Compact (Embedded) Database

This database is the file aw_db.sdf, located here (default install location):

64-Bit Systems:

   C:\Program Files (x86)\AuditWizard v8\db\

32-Bit Systems:

   C:\Program Files\AuditWizard v8\db\

If you have installed AuditWizard in a different location, you can find the exact location of the database by going to Administration > General > Database Administration and reviewing the path in the Change Database section.

To back it up, simply copy it elsewhere.

[edit] SQL Server

A full version of SQL Server provides an automated backup option. Use the standard procedure in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

[edit] SQL Server Express

The Express version of SQL Server does not provide an automated backup feature, so schedule a recurring task in a task-management system to back up manually. Use the standard procedure in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

[edit] Files

The following folders contain data. Back up the whole folder:

   C:\Program Files (x86)\AuditWizard v8\AuditAgent
   C:\Program Files (x86)\AuditWizard v8\Scanners
   C:\Program Files (x86)\AuditWizard v8\Icons
   C:\Program Files (x86)\AuditWizard v8\Reports\custom_reports

The following file contains data. Back up just this file:

   C:\Program Files\AuditWizard v8\AuditWizardv8.exe.config
